Angus Writers' circle meets at 7.30pm on the first and third Wednesday of every month in the Viewfield Hotel, Viewfield Road, Arbroath, Angus. The programme of meetings includes speakers, workshops and club nights when members read their work and crits are given. New members can expect a warm welcome. 2008 Programme June/July

2nd July : Club night. Read your work and get a crit or just enjoy.

16th July: Club night. A chance to read and receive a crit on your travel article entry for SAW open competition.

6th August: Esther Read: adjudication of article competition and associated talk.

20th August: Jess Smith talking about her writing experiences.

Competitions Deadline (members only)

6th August: Poem (any subject, maximum 40 lines). To be adjudicated by Raymond Vettese on 15th October.

19th November: Womans Short Story to suit 'People's Friend'. To be adjudicated in January 2009.

Angus writers - past and presentChris Longmuir is a founder member of Angus Writers' Circle and is a keen advocate of the value of writers' groups to both the novice and the experienced writer. Many of the group's members have become published following their involvement with the group. Some of the better known members include Eileen Ramsay, romantic novelist, and David Wishart, historical crime author.
