Angus Writers' circle meets at 7.30pm on the first and third Wednesday of every month at the Rosely Hotel, Forfar Road, Arbroath, Angus DD11 3RB. The programme of meetings includes speakers, workshops and club nights when members read their work and crits are given. New members can expect a warm welcome. 2010 Programme June/August

16th June: Bill Kirton - crime writing workshop.

7th July: Club night including "Guess Who I Am" (a short anonymous piece - 200-300 words).

21st July: Drama Workshop by John Binnie.

4th August: Club night. Bring your work and get a crit.

Competitions Deadline (members only)

4th August: Crime short story (max 1500 words), to be adjudicated by Chris Longmuir, winner to be announced on 6th October.

1st September: Sketch for two characters - (max 800words). Internal adjudication on the night.

Angus writers - past and presentChris Longmuir is a founder member of Angus Writers' Circle and is a keen advocate of the value of writers' groups to both the novice and the experienced writer. Many of the group's members have become published following their involvement with the group. Some of the better known members include Eileen Ramsay, romantic novelist, and David Wishart, historical crime author.
