Angus Writers' circle meets at 7.30pm on the first and third Wednesday of every month at the Cliffburn Hotel, Cliffburn Road, Arbroath, Angus. The programme of meetings includes speakers, workshops and club nights when members read their work and crits are given. New members can expect a warm welcome. 2010 Programme February/March

3rd February : Club night. Read your work and get a crit.

17th February : Nick Hesketh. Writing for children aged 5-7 years.

3rd March : Club night. Read your work and get a crit.

17th March: Club night including 'One I Love' (Bring along a favourite piece to read, maximum 3 minutes).

Competitions Deadline (members only)

3rd March : Bell Rock piece (article, max 1000 words; short story, max 1000 words; poem, max 40 lines; relating to the Bell Rock) Adjudication by Colin Easton, winners announced on 19th May.

21st April : Story for children, age 5-7 years (max 1000 words) adjudicated by Nick Hesketh.

Angus writers - past and presentChris Longmuir is a founder member of Angus Writers' Circle and is a keen advocate of the value of writers' groups to both the novice and the experienced writer. Many of the group's members have become published following their involvement with the group. Some of the better known members include Eileen Ramsay, romantic novelist, and David Wishart, historical crime author.
